[the stunning poster by the lovely Tabitha Emma]

well, I have a feeling the Once Upon exhibition is no secret within the online artist community! If you haven't heard about it (and you are Australian) then what are you doing?!?! Rush over to the Once Upon website and check out what all the fuss is about. If you are not Australian, go check it out anyway, because there is lots of pretty loveliness to see, and much much more to come.

as much as I love talking about the show, instead of trying to explain it to you, it is probably best you go and read the wonderful words by Angela, because she does a much better job at explaining than I do. you may, or may not be aware however, that the renee she speaks of is actually me! wow what do you know!

so yes, my partner in crime (Angela) and I have actually teamed up again for the show. organising an exhibition of such size, and one that is shaping up to be quite the event is actually really changeling, in a good way. It is funny though, because my "real world" peeps don't really get just how much work we are doing and how much this actually means to the "online peeps". if I try and talk about some exciting new development (like for example that Frankie are the exhibitions main partner!!!#T^#@#$@!!!$%!) (or actually, the fact that the exhibition is ACTUALLY IN the latest issue of Frankie) I get a look that says "ok, Renee that's great" or "Frankie? who is that?" *pats me on the head and rolls eyes*.

so thank you so so so much for all your enthusiasm, because without it,
well let's just say it is what motivates us to keep on going!!!
a lot of artists have been showing sneak peeks, so I guess I better show mine. I have been on a pretty sweet "journey" with these four little works, starting, then starting again, then hating it, then loving it. I think a lot of the artists have found the size and theme specs to be a huge challenge, again in a good way! I think the best/hardest thing for me is that it all makes me a bit confused. I start going down one path with my art, love it, but then change, and I never seem to keep consistent. maybe it is my self diagnosed ADHD or something. who knows. anyway, after I have completed my works for the show I am thinking of setting myself some sort of artistic challenge. maybe something like this. but not has hard core. maybe I need to limit myself to do something over and over until I decide what feels right.

these are feeling good for now. we will see. and you will too when you come along to the OPENING NIGHT OF ONCE UPON!! WOOOPPEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[my sneak peek : oh can you guess my Fairy Tale?]

well, remember when I posted about my new knife? turns out it is absolutely fricken amazing. will someone please tell me what I was thinking trying to cut with anything but the global chef's knife.

so anyway, I love pumpkin. I love it. but I have been avoiding it because I hate cutting it. well, never fear! the global chef's knife is here!! this evening, I dived head first into the kitchen after work. I started off by baking these. I was a little nervous at first, because I can be a bit hit and miss in the baking department. apparently they turned out good! I am yet to try one because I made myself sick nibbling while cooking! tut tut. but I am taking them to work tomorrow to help lift some sad spirits.

while I had the peanut butter out, I thought I should be loving and make some work snacks for the boyfriend. these amazing peanut snack bars from my all time favourite 101 cookbooks have to be my most cooked (treatish) item. I have modified the recipe a fair bit over the months, using honey, adding different nuts and seeds etc, but use her recipe to start and go from there. Seriously, they are such an awesome snack, and it beats overly processed muesli bars!

gosh, when am I going to get to the knife!! well after all this was cleaned up, I got into my pumpkin. I found this recipe, but didn't have maple syrup, so I just went for honey (my favourite food anyway) instead. I have never cooked whole chicken breast before, so that was a bit nerve racking, but turned out it was really yummy! the whole salad is really easy to make, and a great mid week meal. I won't post the recipe, but you can find it here. I find taste.com.au to be a great website when you are not sure what to cook, for example tonight I had chicken and pumpkin, so I just entered those words in the search, and found this great recipe! I am sure google would work too, but can be a bit hit and miss.

so there you have it. finally some more food related posts on my semi foodie (newbie) blog. have you cooked these recipes before? what have you been cooking this week?

friends. readers. others. I am absolutely thrilled to announce that Foreshore Dynamic is. finally. live.

I mean can you believe it? We have been working on this all year. It is just so so so so so so so wonderful to finally see it all coming together. The hilarious thing is, that despite organised spreadsheets, whiteboards, calendars (or should I say iCalenders), deadlines and meetings, we are still launching a wee bit late and we still stayed up to 2 AM LAST NIGHT TO FINISH EVERYTHING.

Ok admittedly, I was fussing over things like 1 pixel alignement and things ever so small a fine tooth comb wouldn't even pick up. But I just can't help myself. The website was amazingly designed and coded by my little bro, and he really really has out done himself (a seriously huge thanks to you bro). The amount of time and effort he has put in for us, well it is just amazing really. We are just so so so blessed to have such a talented little web man in the family! That said, I (and even James!) had a bit of a play around with the code and I am slowly but surely getting more confident with my CSSHTMLDIV<*::;;>*& thingos.

Anyway, if you are a new reader, you may have no idea what I am talking about. Basically my boyfriend has just (re)launched his online tee shop, which has been the result of many many many many many months of hard work. So, it would be SUPER AWESOME if you can go check it out. [also, if you notice anything alarmingly wrong with anything, please let us know as we are still teething!]

when all you need is a brand new global chef's knife. Oh am I so so glad I decided to make this purchase. Finally. I cannot believe I waited this long. I mean seriously, I was using a blunt steak knife to do all my cutting/chopping/slicing/dicing. Anyway. What is done is done.

So tonight I celebrated by cooking this. And oh. was. it. amazing. I can't wait for tomorrow so I can eat the left overs. Yum. Thank you smittenkitchen.com. Thank you.

the problem is, I am only going for the weekend, and I just know this is going to be a problem. why? because there are about eight hundred things and places I want to do and see!

oh well, I will just make sure it wont be my last trip! any suggestions peeps!!???

Happy Birthday Bro.

but I will say sorry. I know. Knock Knock. Hello?? Sorry I am here. But you know. You know how it is. With this. It is exciting, and I love it. But you know.

But I wanted to promise that I wouldn't forget about this blog. Because I like blogging here. It is fun. And it is nice to go back an read old posts.

Speaking of posts. Here is a new blog post over at the {twin set} blog. It is sweet and I think you wil like it. Let us know what you think.

My illustration for the day is a little card that I made for my brother. My brother is pretty awesome. He did all the website hard stuff for {twin set}, and we can't thank him enough. If you ever need a fancy web designer that can code AND design, he is your man. I will post his website when it puts it up very soon.

I bought some gorgeous new sketchbooks, and notebooks from NoteMaker and I love love love them. I am so organised now it is fantastic. I also got a new art diary.

I WILL:

- keep blogging here
- stay organised with my notebooks and lists
- keep using my digital calendar (synced to my iPhone of course)
- draw every day
- or more so, sketch every day
- if I want to buy something new, I must draw it first
- limit spending (hopefully previous point with help with this)
- not set myself demands and promises, or stick to the ones I do make....

(isn't this colour like totally awesome?)
