ohtel, wellington NZ

If I was to dream of the most perfect hotel of all time, this hotel would be it. Lucky for me I am likely to visit Wellington sometime in the near(ish) future and so I will ensure that ohtel takes pride of place on my itinerary. Can you imagine being the buyer for this place?* I literally died when I saw it. Thanks apartment therapy for the intro!

[all images from ohtel]

*EDIT : so it turns out that the buyer/designer actually reads my blog, such a lucky thing!!! And what a bizarre coincidence. hehehe.

Just for A Moment

[just for a moment]

probably about time I did a little post featuring some of my creations. oh how showy of me! these are the four photograph prints that made up my little display at the finders keepers markets over the weekend. I had a big space of wall to fill, and in the end I had quite a few pieces on show. I would love to show you a picture of the whole thing, but I foolishly forgot to take one! James took one, with my silly face in it, so that might just have to do once I get it from him. Did you take one?

Cliche

The day was a wonderful sucess, with Foreshore Dynamic "represent" and with my art on the walls a stone throw away. It was quite surreal actually. And I wasn't at all, at any point, at all, wishing I had my Leeloo hat on... (well maybe just a little. but it is ok, Foreshore Dynamic, you were fun too.)

If you are interested in one
of my photograph prints, just give me a yell.
Only $10 each.
What a nice little gift one might make!

morning lovelies!

it seems super weird saying this, but that isn't going to stop me. {twin set} has launched. {twin set} is something I have been excited about for months (! WOW time flies) now and you don't understand how excited I am to "reveal".

{twin set} is an online shop (based here in Australia) that sells off beat retro & quirky vintage. It has gorgeous dresses, pretty pictures and I know you are going to love it. In conjunction with the shop, the {twin set} blog also launches today. Be sure to follow this blog for all things pretty, eco-friendly, Australian where possible, vintage and just generally sweet things and finds.

So why all the fuss from me?? Oh right. Because super amazing Angela (Leeloo.com.au) and I, well, it is our business! So much hardwork, laughs, fun and crazy times went into this business, and we are so so super proud to be sharing all the excitement with you today!! Hear more about our story and ideas here.

be sure to check out our SUPER COOL LOOK BOOK!

I think this was one of the most exciting parts,

seeing this "book" come together the way it has!!!!

would LOVE to hear what you think!!! Because it has been such a long time in the making, it can be a bit overwhelming!!! xxxxxx

Friday Fashions

So, I was tagged by the lovely Plain Bananas, which doesn't hapen to me often, so I thought I would dabble.

Only problem is, I am pretty boring, and have a short attention span, so I am only going to answer the FIRST question.

What are you wearing today?

clockwise from top; 2 Blocks South jeans;
Vintage shoes from Brown Bag Vintage ;
My favourite vintage
jumper from Golden Old Rags;
Necklace by Little Shop Of
from Leeloo (not the actual one I am wearing);

What are you wearing for "Friday Fashions?"
haha maybe a theme? You might see the same clothes repeated over.

(you can just do what I did, or the original, or none at all. whatevs).

sweet vintage

if you feel like having a browse take a peep at my little vintage shop, where I encourage you all to think about making secondhand/vintage purchases. Not only can vintage items be super sweet, you are doing your bit by reducing waste and saying no to mass production.

feel free to share all things vintage with me!!

Thanks Nan

this christmas. it will save you money and it will save our little world

I am currently waiting to start a new job, and decided to take a little week off before I started. Great for spending time online shopping. No so great when you don't have the funds to support the hobby.

So without further delay, here are my latest omg I need to buy these items from etsy but cannot because I don't have the funding.

My mum would probably cry out in horror, so I guess Ill have to wait till I have my own home before I start the vintage decorating, but I can dream all the same (and start filling that glory box!). From whiteelephantvintage

Lately I find myself more drawn to home wears than anything else. I just love it.

Friends, I thought I would just share a quick update in regards to my vintage shop grandmas chest of glory. It needs some Aussie love because being vintage on etsy and not being from America gets a bit tough due to the high international shipping rates. But thats ok. Because Aussies love vintage too. I know I do.

A little about my business philosphy here. Essentially I want a lovely little vintage shop. And she is growing.
Why buy vintage? Well it looks better and usually is (hehe). But more importantly we are recycling. Why do we need to be producing new stuff (harming the environment etc) when we have excellent stuff going un-used! Share the love my friends.

I also still enjoy the idea of a glory box. I myself have one, and I feel that all these youngies out there (haha me included) should be starting our collections now for when we need to be serious adults and what not (not likely).

Enjoy friends.

if you cruise over to the old vintage shop (well it is actually new seeing as I only just opened it!) you can check out some of these little treasures. if you so please.

Hope the weekend was sweet for all. I know I am feeling mighty jealous that I don't live in melbourne and don't get to attend wonderful exhibitions and the like.

a crack at ebay

Here are a few of the little vintage items I am hoping to sell on ebay. I dug them out of the garage the other day, after they have been hiding there for many years, and to my surprise they were in perfect condition! After I gave them a good clean I was amazed at hour good they came up, Ill actually be sad to get rid of them. But I just dont think they can handle being stuffed in the boxes any longer. here are all the items I have listed at the moment! I spent a lot of time making them look all pretty! (im very fussy with my formatting hehe) so have a look, and maybe even a bid!! click click for vintage treasures!
