fridays I am usually feeling pretty good. I do yoga on Thursday nights, and so I always wake up with a fresh and new outlook on things. things tend to look, feel and smell better. which I think must be a good thing.
this morning during my morning routine, I was reading my most recent purchase :: the latest issue of Inside Out magazine, the CHRISTMAS issue. I have already been secretly planning my christmas decorations, and doing a bit of present shopping, and so I love it when the retail and media world can confirm with me that this is ok, by decorating and publishing gift guides and christmas themed issues.
so today, my fave fab friday find, is going to be pages 15 and 16 from this latest CHRISTMAS 09 issue from Inside Out. as you know, I am a hard core handmade, indie, local, nice things shopper, and I am just loving that these "bigger" mags are jumping on board this "trend" for want of a better word. from what I can tell, they are recommending us gorgeous things, which are mostly handmade, locally made, unique, eco-friendly or just generally pretty special.
I thought I would try and itemise and link to everything on these pages, for my own reference (because I was going to be adding them to my favourites anyway) and of course for your own!

anyway, I haven't even opened it but the handmade look and feel of it is just blowing me away. It. is. amazing.
Despite the fact that it is getting harder and harder to get up each morning here in Australia, people over the other side of the world are starting to experience those lovely longer days and warm glowing rays.
To celebrate, the wonderful Poppytalk Handmade have just launched their new market, Here Comes the Sun.
The market is curated by the wonderful Poppytalk, who has a fabulous blog, which is a daily read for me, and features so many lovely things, I think it is a great way to shop for all things pretty, summery and of course handmade!

And I am not that jealous of the approaching summer, because well, coffee tastes that much better when you are cold!
Wow. I am surprised I still have the energy to be typing this. But it is just one of those occasions where it doesn’t matter because you are just too excited, you just have to share.
Spent my day today at the hugely popular Finders Keepers markets (along with a whole lot of other [lovely] people).
For the first part I was helping out at the Leeloo stall, which looked absolutely gorgeous. It was just so special seeing how everyone reacted to the beautiful pieces, and it is funny how you get all warm and fussy when someone makes a purchase. It really was super to be apart of (Thanks Leeloo !)
And of course all that stall helping make be hungry for some shopping, the result was like a kid in a candy store. I did go a bit mental, but I think every purchase was absolutely worth it, and just like watching people buy handmade, the warm and fuzzy thing happens just as much, if not more, when you return the favour. I just loved chatting to all the stall holders (which they still managed to do even though they were super busy and super tired I am sure), and seeing all the lovely things they have worked so hard to create.
