while I could never draw to this level (*cough, yes those images are drawings by Maria Kontis), Once I could probably do a lot better than what I can do today. because I did it. you know. practice and all that.
now, I can hardly be bothered getting out the pencil case. why bother when I have access to photoshop, and a whole range of artistic options. I don't even have to get my hands dirty.

with many bloggers winding down posting for the year, I thought now would be good time to get into those "save for a rainy day" posts. You know the ones, that you know would be awesome, if you could just find a spare second!
well I will be alone this christmas (just me and my boyfriend) and I am actually kind of excited by this. it will (hopefully) give me some time to catch up on real world mag and book reading, and when my addiction calls me back online, some blog reading (not the fast-scrol type of read either!) too.

I secretly love the "what I wore today" style flickr groups using photos, but I have never had the courage to actually snap a full body portrait and post it up. (Or even if I have actually taken the photo, it is the actual posting up part that I find hard to commit to!) Any how, this special flickr group requires you to draw what you wore, so no need for any embarrassing photos to make their way into the public domain!!

don't get me wrong, I have (and probably will do again) eaten all of these foods before. but I just seem to work better running on natures fuel. enjoy these. and watch for more my friends.

when I was little I used to go for walks with my Nanna.
Bird of Paradise was always my favourite,
"Strelitzia" she would say.
"Say it again Nanna!"
"Strelitzia" she would say.
I felt so botanical.
I have been opening up my senses and doing some outsite sketchings. Well these were drawn from photos, but the drawing did take place outside.
It was starting to get cold while I was drawing, but then I remembered when I was here (photos). In Wanaka, New Zealand. It was probably 2 or 3 Degrees, it was freezing cold. I had thermals under those pants and about 15 layers under my jumper.
But we still spent probably a good half hour maybe longer taking lots of pretty photos and just starting into the mountains (I must admit, I did get a little impatient and my boyfriend had to tell me to "just relax!").
I can't decide if these are finished or not. I like their simplicity. I like them side by side. I like that drawing them took be back to that place. I think I need to remember those times of peace right now.
